I’ve just checked out for the error and have came across this knowledge based article:
"Stop error code 0xC0000221 (STATUS_IMAGE_CHECKSUM_MISMATCH)" error message occurs
It addressed the error you are getting, just go through it and try out the resolution mentioned there.

The error occur due to driver issue. You will require to check that all the recently installed drivers in your system is appropriate and updated. The other things that cause the same problem is damage dlls files. You have to check your system hardware for the same. Some time recently installed hardware or new drivers cause the issue. You can get a bit more detail about the error in Event Viewer. It has a section where all error logs are maintained with complete information. If this is a driver based issue then you can see the same in it and that would be easy to fix.

The only possible way to get rid of this error is to install Windows back again from scratch. You will need to re-install Windows XP by formatting your existing partition. So first boot in safe mode. Under that take a full system backup and then go ahead with formatting. Usually I keep a complete system recovery file ready with me. This file help me to restore my system instantly whenever I face any blue-screen or major problem. The entire system is instantly restored and works really fine. It is just like fresh windows installation.
