| Re: Is there any small laser printer available
As far as your budget is concerned I think that Samsung ML-1740 will be the best in your case, it will probably cost you for $150. Its basically a black-and-white laser printer and will cost you half the price of the average monochrome laser that are available today. It will take 14-inch square on your desk and 7.5 inches high. It has a glossy white-plastic shell and a 250-sheet main paper tray. I think that it will be the best for home use. It probably prints ordinary text at 13.0ppm which is enough for home use according to me. So as I have mentioned the benefits and some features of the Samsung ML-1740 you also need to know the drawbacks before getting it. Here are some of them:

| Re: Is there any small laser printer available
Hey thanks for the same. I have checked out the Samsung ML-1740 and it looks nice and I can keep it as one of my option. Anyways I just wanted to know that is there any small color laser printer available in the same range or within $250? I don’t have any problem in getting black-and-white laser printer but I will like to know if there is any color option for me within the range I have specified? I am looking after small laser printer for home use but if they can be used for some small office use then it will be a plus point for me.Any further suggestions are welcomed. |

If you want to get a color laser printer within the range that you have specified then you can check out the HP LaserJet Pro CP1025 Color Printer series. I am not going in much detail for the same but then you can get it for $229.00 and below is the short specification of the same:

There are some good choices here but I think that Dell Laser Printer 1700 is just the best and fits perfectly in your range as well. You can get it for $199, it comes in Dell's signature black-and-silver colors, the text Print quality is not that good but the Grayscale photo Print quality is just too good. The Output Score, Line Art, Default Settings (formerly pf-Output-Print-LineArt-Default) as well as the Output Score, Text, Default Settings (formerly pf-Output-Print-Text-Default) are said to be poor according to the test but then the Output Score, Grayscale Graphics, Best Quality Settings (formerly pf-Output-Print-Grayscale-Best) is quite good below are the other test results: Print speed: Text-13.5 ppm Color Photo (secs)-31.38 Color Photo, Normal Settings-31.38 One-Page Grayscale Graphic (secs)-39.58 Ten-Page Word Document (secs)-44.42 Tested Color Speed (ppm)-3.6 Three-Page PowerPoint Document (secs)-43.7 Three-Page Word Document (secs)-29.15 Two-Page Excel Document (secs)-24.4 |
