Seagate Momentus XT 500GB ST95005620AS is lagging in games

I have recently bought a Seagate Momentus XT 500GB ST95005620AS and don’t know why but then it is appearing to be lagging in games, I have found that the hdd led goes full color without any blink and then freezes suddenly and the I am not able to do anything rather than forcing system to shutdown, is there anyone who can help me out???

Before I suggest you something further about this can you just post your system specification so that I can have a better idea of the issue that you are facing, just mention them here for other help. Other than have you tried out updating the firmware??? Or checking it out on some other machine to see if it is making and difference, if not the try out the same and the post back the result that you get.

I have tried updating the firmware as well as trying it out on other machine as well but then it is not making any difference and the issue is still the same, below is y system specification:
    • cpu : i7-2600k
    • Motherboard: z68 maximus-gene-z4/gen3
    • Ram: 16gb pc17k
    • Video card : 2x AMD 7970
    • hdd : 2x ocz vertex 3 120gb and the 500gb momentus x

Is there anything I can try out further to get rid of this issue???

    In that case just answer me the following questions;
    1. Had you made a clean / fresh install or you had installed it by cloning?
    2. Have you checked out for a root kit ?
    3. Have you checked out for flaky connectors?
    4. Have you tried using Seatools so as to check out for function???

Just answer the same for further help.

Answering you in the same way:
    1. I have made a clean / fresh installation and not cloning
    2. I had checked out for the same and have formatted them in different ways as well
    3. I have not yet found any physical damages
    4. I have tried using Seatools as well but then it was not if much help

is there any other workaround that i can try out?? any further help for the same will be highly appreciated.

Even I wanted to share that I am having the same issue with the following:
    • APU: A8-3870K
    • MB: ASRock A75 Pro4
    • RAM: 8GB G.Skill Ripjaws 1866
    • HDD: Momentus XT 500GB

I have tried following the above mentioned solutions and in my case the drive has passes the SeaTools test but then it was reported to be having damaged sectors in hd tune, I have tried using other 320GB 7200RPM hard drive and it is just working fine without any issues so I think that the drive itself is the culprit. If you have not tried out HD Tune and see what result you get.

I think you both have tried out all the possible workarounds for finding out the issue and have found it as well, I don’t think that there might be any solution that you can try out further for the sake of getting it work properly, I will suggest you to better contact the Seagate tech support and ask them for an replacement rather than trying out more solutions.
