My PC keeps stop working , what can be done?

I’ve been using my PC since quite a few time but since last few weeks it’s been getting stuck mid-processes. It happens amidst an important work or an intense game or movie. It’s damn irritating and I sort of find my PC less reliable to use. I am not very well-versed with Computers or Computer-terms. If anybody here could help me in a complete Layman term. It would be appreciable if anyone can come up with solutions that work.

Like, what exactly happens, what you do when it happens, etc. Try extracting the maximum you can find and copy paste it here. Without proper details of the issue, I can’t go ahead with helping you.

Oh Sure! I’ll try doing that. What exactly happens is: my PC gets locked up all of a sudden. This happens in the middle of an important work or anything for that matter. All that I can think of doing with an electronic equipment is to restart it and I do the same with it. But, it mostly refuses to start and shows some Disk Read Error. I have to restart it many times and finally, after dozens of tries it starts and after a point of time it gives the same issue all over again

Can you please provide me with some more information? What I need now is the details about your computer. Computer Specifications, to be precise. You don’t have to panic. You can find all the details in the product catalog that you might have got with your Computer. Fetch everything you can.

Yes, this will do. Anyways, initially all you need to do is to perform some basic troubleshooting operations. Try doing all of the following. I’m sure, it’ll fetch you some relief:

1. reset the CMOS battery
2. change the slots the RAM is in,
And if things still don’t seem to improve,
3. Reformat,
4. update drivers
This would be more than enough.

And if nothing of these seems to work, you’ll have to replace your hardware which cannot be done without the assistance of an expert.
