Cannot format 2 GB HP pen drive

I am having 2 GB HP pen drive a nd this was running well from last many months but from last two days I am having problem with this. Actually whenever I try to format it then it starts with the format and suddenly shows me the message as “windows unable to format”. I have tried to do this many of the times but all the times It comes up with the same thing. Can somebody over here can tell me that why it is happening and how can I get this problem resolved. Please reply!!!

Just try to format the drive in the PC running the LINUX operating system. I have resolved many of such issues with the same and so I think it will also work for you.

You can make use of the HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool and that will help you to format the pendrive. With this, you can format any USB flash drive with the desired file system. This is useful tool to create a Windows Start key. With the NTFS file system, you can also still tease out a little more space from your memory stick when you turn on the possible data compression.

Have you tried to format that in some other PC. If there is something wrong with your computer then it will be good if you try to do the same in some other computer. See if this is getting formatted there or not.
