Advice for first time HTPC user

Hello friends, as the new files are not playable with the old media player so I am thinking to purchase the HTPC. But this is going to be my first time experience with the HTPC and so I need some advice/information from you people about this. What are the precautions to be taken and what are the most important things to keep in mind. Thank you so much for the replies in advance.

The HTPC itself was too small and outdated when play HD content, especially due to the internal graphics board. The 4850e dual-core processor was also insufficient for this purpose. Not everything has been updated, the box and HVR-4000 card have been able to take advantage and remain within the new configuration. This has aluminum finish in front of the well-known IMON LCD, IR receiver and remote included. On the left we have built a card reader, USB, FireWire, audio jacks and the reset button.

The most important thing is to not chance to "nail" in the reproduction of 23.976 frames per second than most movies bring in their coding. This drawback leads to a movie with a few jumps or "defects" that can become annoying. To avoid this we can use a card that can play such content, and ATI is one of the best in this regard.

When placing the plate inside the box. Incorporate hard disk 3.5 "in its place. After fixing the plate we can "click" the memory modules in their respective socket, and thus have dual channel. At this stage we can also connect the front panel (HDD LED, POWER LED ....). A tip to screw the check box that can be opened smoothly the front cover of it to use a clip.

Moreover, we can use our HTPC as music CD, and thanks to software that has the equipment allows us to play both standard audio discs as well as compiled into MP3, and any sound format such as OGG, WMA, FLAC, WAV, MIDI, and any file type you can think of. At this point we can also configure the computer to achieve the reproduction parameters we want, managing to reach maximum quality even play discs in DVD-A and CD-DTS. Another possibility offered by the HTPC is in the option of viewing pictures on our TV screens, and enjoy them individually, presentation and even background music.

we can create our own music libraries, video and photo album, storing all the material that we can save on the hard drive of the computer, to use it whenever you want without resorting to any external environment. In terms of possibilities with removable media, a HTPC can not only read DVDs and CDs, but also allows us to use Pen Drives, digital cameras, mobile phones, and other removable hard drives, and from there take the content hosted on the themselves, without any previous step, and we can also work and process files on the same computer.

Besides all these possibilities, a HTPC allows us to listen online radio stations from around the world, watch TV channels through the TV capture card, record our favorite shows, burn CDs and DVDs, surf the Internet, play games.

You can use specific programs for each of the steps, but it requires us to have 8-10 programs to optimize the PC and I think that makes it better that SMP. SMP includes a firewall and antivirus suite and recommend not installing and use consolidated tools.

A HTPC will need greater dedication to get it running properly for a NMT. This is undeniable. Instead one can never be left NMT as to consumer tastes as a HTPC. Before looking components, it is necessary to consider what services you want to have a HTPC. Things like watching a Blue-ray or HD-DVD Original HW needs a concrete. We must also take into account the other components of the media room are going to ride. Be clear that the TV connection available or if we are to connect the HTPC to an A / V formats.
