Cannot configure IRF on HP 5120 24 switch with 2 slots

Hello friends, I am having hp5120 24g ei switch and was trying to configure the IRF on it. But it was not helpful for me. Even there is no reliable commands to configure IRF, I have update the comware : A5120EI-CMW520-R2208P01-S168.bin and even the bootrom : A5120EI-BTM_607.btm. So does anyone have tried to do it and it has worked for you or not? Please tell me. Thank you.

If you have corrected inserted the module and check that module is functioning properly. You will be able to see the interface when running the "display interface brief" command. It will show you as XGE1/1/1 and XGE1/1/2 for slot 1, 1/2/1 and 1/2/2 for slot 2. As it been seen then you can work on IRF.

I have installed modules correctly and also I have checked them in some another switch. I was not able to get IRF related commands in that switch; I have tried to work it out but then also was not possible to get it.

I wanted to know that what you are getting in the display interface brief? If the ports are not been displayed in that then it is fault of the hardware, so for that you need to call the support team of HP, which they will fix it for you.

There is no problem with the hardware of mine, even upgraded the firmware but I am still getting the same problem, there is not any IRF commands. I think you might be confuse with the switch I am having, so let me tell you that I am having the HP 5120-24G EI Switch JE066A where you people might be thinking that I am using the HP 5120-24G EI Switch with 2 Interface Slots JE068A. If you checked the physically hardware of both them then it is same and have interface slots, but the problem is that it works on the second switch not on the first one. I think I have to purchase the SFP+ modules to run IRF and also not sure about it as there is any IRF related commands in this switch.

Let me tell you that HP 5120-24G EI Switch JE066A will not recognize the SFP+ slots as you think about it, for that you need to have the HP 5120-24G EI Switch with 2 Interface Slots JE068A. Due to which you will not able to run the IRF on HP 5120-24G EI Switch JE066A even you are having the physical slots.
