| Second Hand PC and trouble with right sound card driver.
Hi there, If you could help with below query would be great. I bought second hand PC and am having trouble with right sound card driver. I tried good few sound drivers from google search but it does not work. Please see the attached print screen. Would it be possible from your end to send it through email? PC is old, Pentium 4, XP Professional, 1GB RAM and 80GB hard disk. One of my friend said it is generic sound driver. Thank you. |

First of all you need to give us the proper specifications of the hardware component, for that download a tool called System Spec 3.05 by searching it from google. System Spec is a tool that displays various information about your system's software and hardware. Furthermore, you can access information on the network (e.g. network adapter configuration), printers, sound (sound card, mixer devices, version, volume).

Hi EINSTEIN_007, Thank you for your reply. Somehow I got through the sound driver but still there is no sound from my PC. Is there anything that am missing any steps after installing sound driver? |

Hi All, I have tried below steps and still it does not work!! Go to Start->Settings->Control Panel->Adminstrative Tools->Services Then locate in the list of services "Windows Audio". Open this service If this service is showing with a Startup type set to Disabled then Select "Automatic" from the drop down list then hit apply. Then click the "Start" button. If this service is showing with a Startup type set to Manual then Select "Automatic" from the drop down list then hit apply. Then click the "Start" button. Next Go to Start->Settings->Control Panel->Sounds and Audio Devices then select the Volume Tab then put a tick in the box marked "Place Volume Icon in the Task Bar" then click apply. With a bit of luck and following wind you should now have your sound restored. |
