    Working and types of printers

In today’s world there is no one who is unaware about the latest technologies, no matter the person is educated or not. One of the technological products which are in excess use from last 200 years is the Xerox machine which in turn later on overtook by the printers. But both the machines still exists even today just because they both performs the same work but from different sources. However I am personally very much impressed by the printer, the way it works and helps us by giving us the output within a sec. in fact as years are passing their size are simultaneously decreasing. So how many of you feels the same as I do for this small inventions of printer. Please share if you all have more information regarding the types of printers or anything related to printer.

As you said that printers were invented some 200 years ago, have you ever imagined what made the common man to introduce such technology? Initially years ago there use to be monks sitting together with pens and papers to make multiple copies of the same data. Then later on years after typewriters and carbon paper came in to reduce the stress of the people. But still the person had to work hard to make copies although the work load reduced to half of what it was earlier. By the end of 1980’s printers came in picture with an unique ink ribbons and uniform letter spacing.

Printers when initially invented were only of one kind i.e. dotted matrix printer. But now if you try to check out in the market you will come across various other types of printer with different quality and prices. Amongst them the most well know and convenient printer is:-

    Laser printer-

Laser printers are also known as tonner based printer. They are called so because they of the use of toners for printing and these toners are nothing but a type of powder that is made from either carbon or synthetic polymers. Initially these toners were to print only black and white texts and images but later on looking at the human requirement for color fonts and images, colored toners were made to fulfill their requirement.
There is another toner based printer present, the LED printer which uses an array of LEDs instead of a laser to cause toner adhesion to the print drum.

No matter how much convenient laser printers are but anyhow they are very much expensive for the common man to afford it. Instead I would always prefer inkjet printer which is the most commonly used in almost everyone’s place. They gives the best quality photo prints of images with 140-200 pixels per inch (PPI) resolution, and high quality prints of images with 200-300 ppi resolution. They spray a tiny drop of on the paper to print an image or text. If compared this ink drop is as small as 50 microns where as a human hair is about 70 microns.

Have any one thought if the fastest technology of today’s world i.e. computer is present then why we go for printers, typewriters or Xerox machines. In fact I think you all know that computers were invented before printers. Everyone knows that there is no such thing that a computer can do, then why don’t we compress even this printing activity into the computer?

Re: Working and types of printers

During the earlier time getting copies of any document was too difficult and computer was introduced only for the purpose of processing and storing the data. Later on the requirement of hardcopies was increasing tremendously and this requirement was unable to fulfill using just a computer. So then this printer came into picture. Now, for your kind information I must tell you that printer is also a part of a computer. I think you know that computer comprises of several parts; monitor, keyboard, mouse etc are the part of computer but not a computer, the same ways printer is also its part. Hope now its cleared that printed papers maybe coming out from the printer but it’s the computer which does the actual work of printing.

You can use any wifi printer with this tablet. What you need is an application to make your tablet work for the same. You can download PrinterShare or Cloud Print from Android Market. Note, you need to buy it, its not free.

Maybe Laser Printers and Ink Jet Printers are the latest and best selling printers at present. But we must not forget other printer which meets the same requirement as laser and ink jet printer does. Those printers are:-
    • Dye-sublimation printers-

A dye-sublimation printer (or dye-sub printer) is a printer which employs a printing process that uses heat to transfer dye to a medium such as a plastic card, paper or canvas.
    • Thermal printers-

Thermal printers work by selectively heating regions of special heat-sensitive paper.
    • UV printers-

The printer will use a special UV light bar which will be able to write and erase the paper.
