HP 6500 Office jet E709a is not able to print black colour

I have recently bought a HP 6500 Office jet E709a printer. I came to know about one issue that the printer would not print anything black. The cartridge panel shows that the black color is at the maximum level. I removed and fixed the cartridge again but the same problem is occurring again . it is very frustrating for me that I cannot use the black color. Need help . any relevant help will be appreciated. May I ask you which cartridges are you using??? What Is the expiry date of the cartridges???

The printer’s warranty date is till 2013. Cartridge model is HP 920. The other colors work properly. I uninstalled the printer and after that again reinstalled it. But it is unable to print black color. What should I do now??

Check properly if the cartridge vents are cleaned or not. Clean up the vents by using three cleaning cycles which include cleaning from toolbox to the printer’s front panel. After that gently clean the printhead assembly. Kindly look out that the printhead assembly is very delicate and can get damaged by scratching it. So be very careful.

Put a soft towel in distilled water. Soak it for sometimes. After that gently remove all the ink cartridges and printhead assembly. Place the printhead nozzles in the water and let to soak them for five to ten minutes. Again gently remove the printhead from the water and gently dry the electrical parts. Do not dare to touch the nozzles directly. Apparently put the printhead back in the printer and reinstall the cartridges.

I did as you have said. While cleaning the printhead I found out that the printhead is damaged. Black ink is coming out of the printhead. There was a black color dot present on the back side of the printhead. What to do. It is very annoying.

You can easily clean the marks of the ink with a moistened q-tip. Be careful do not contact with the nozzle. Clean the printhead and dry the assembly before reinstalling.

Thanks a lot friends. It worked. I gently cleaned the printhead. Now I can get black color for printing. Really appreciated guys. I am totally admired. Thanks again.
