If there is something problem to handle the remote control over this internet TV and the player connection, you can simply use the factory setting restore process on both the TV and player. Its basic way. Normally user knows it but they can't apply in such situations. You can try this. Hope you can catch better output with your blu-ray player remote control.

I think a blu ray player remote was a universal model in your connection. If it already programmed to control multiple devices, you can simply reinitialize it. Its necessary for you to fix your remote control problem. Check its result and found the output on your iPlayer TV.

If you found that trouble was because of TV or another control component, apply unplugging it for few time. After few time slot, just put it into proper positions. If "parental" mode presents on your player use it. It also helpful for maintaining and fixing the remote control problem.

Test your player remote is catching interference from other electrical devices in same room. If such things already present on your connection, you can simply try to remove such interference. USe any process but broke this kind of interference. Mostly magnetic type of interference happens in such situations.
