Using Kingston hyperx 1866mhz memory in Asus g74sx-xr1

Recently I have purchased Kingston hyperx 1866mhz memory of 16Gb. For the Asus g74sx-xr1. The system properties is showing 16GB but still it is running at the 1333mhz. CPU-Z installed on the system DRAM frequency at 665.3mhz. Let me know any of the forum user has managed to install RAM on the laptop of yours. I am waiting for the prompt replies of yours. Thanks a lot in advance.

I wanted to tell you that the memory speed is controlled by the CPU. If you have are having Core i7 then you will have 1333Hz speed. The only reason is to upgrade the ram is to upgrade the same at the lower latency.
If you have done some kind of the research work than you will see that latency making great impact on the speed. There would not be difference between 1333mhz and 800 mhz if 800mhz ram speed is of the low latency.

If you have managed to get the 1866 PnP modules 4x4GB then I recommend that you should replace all the memory sockets with the same. So the memory should be running at the 1866Mhz. if that is not the case then I wanted to tell you that there is something wrong with memory.

Re: Using Kingston hyperx 1866mhz memory in Asus g74sx-xr1

Well I am also having Asus g74sx-xr1 with 4x4GB Kingston PNP 1866 ram and I am getting all the
RAM stick stuck while running at the correct speed. I have tested individual speed as well as couple of sticks together and there was no issue while doing the same. so I am wondering that there is something wrong with BIOS itself. Since none of the RAM is bad at all. I have decided that I am going to BIOS and see what result I am getting and I will let you know about the experience of mine once I have done with the BIOS upgrade.
