I just solve my problem, just doing this. I removed the power cord for 20 seconds (which was actually a bit more). Holding down the # and 6 keys simultaneously and then connect the power cord (without releasing the keys). I held the # and 6 for about 10 seconds after connecting the power cord and no message, but once released I was able to restore power. That the printer prints an alignment page and I was ready to go.

I cannot obtain my HP Photosmart 7680C printer stops blinking. Re-arrange, it does not anything, will not switch off custom. It looks I am not the just one who went through this. What actually makes me crazy is, I just bought ink for it. Does anybody have a simple solution for me? My computer skills are limited.

I tried all the steps that have been recommended in several posts (printer reset with * 6, remove / reinsert the ink cartridges with a dissimilar shop near to my work place, etc.) but not anything helped. To the best of my knowledge - and I attempted to get my printer to work - the unit is dead. I found that attempting to solve the similar trouble. So hopefully this will help anyone who stumbles on this post.

Apparently, some defective components used in the construction of the base plate (see photo). HP will not admit to this problem. There is nothing wrong with the printer, only the capacitors. In my capacitors were 3 C7280 (green cylinders - swollen top indicates a fault) and one quarter from the same manufacturer (TEAP - many unfavorable references to the manufacturer's website). I bought 3x 680UF 330UF 16V and 10V nominal 1x to 105 degrees Celsius (a total of 60cents). In the logic board, the capacitors are replaced labeled C613, C614, C660 and C662.
