In that case i think Direct-attached storage (DAS) will be a better option as a stable storage software , it is VMware certified and it is not from MS as per your choice.

I'm realizing that I was very ambiguous.
I was referring to a storage software product that is cost effective, VMware certified, reliable, and preferably runs on Linux because Linux is the most stable OS. Suggestions of a product that fits that criteria?
