CD-ROM won't read any disks

My scanDisk USB took over my CD-ROM i have a windows desktop XP what should i do? My CD-ROM won't read any disks not even my Dell disks. How do i change the settings back?

You can try by uninstalling and reinstalling the drive and see if this works for you. Other than this, there are many threads with the similar problem. You can have a look at those and see if any of the posts from that helps you.
