Do 450W power supply would be enough for Intel i7 processor?

Hi, I have currently lost my PSU with an accident and so I am willing to have new one for my machine, but I am not sure which one shall I buy, which model would be better? My current configuration is like,
    1. Cabinet - Antec 902
    2. Motherboard - ASUS P9X58D-E
    3. Processor - Intel Core i7 920 2.67GHz
    4. RAM - 8GB DDR3
    5. GPU - NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 1GB
    6. HDD - 2TB 7200RPM

I am planning to have PSU with 450W, so will it be perfect with this configuration, or shall I buy beyond 450W? any suggestion would be appreciated.

Well that’s quite good as you have PSU with 450W but still my recommendation is to have a PSU with 750W because as the title implies I would say while we purchase the PSU processor is not the only concern able thing rather we need to ensure other hardware’s as well and then only choose any one of the model. But still if you have some doubts you should first of all make sure about the other peripherals need and then have any one of them.

I am agree with the above user as you should make sure about the other hardware’s as well but along with that you should choose the one which is suitable for the cabinet you have, and as far as watts are concern you should have 750W PSU only, so you’ll have the ability to make use of the hardware very efficiently, and this will help you if suppose you want to overclock any hardware also. I mean to say if suppose you bought a machine with 450W you may not get it work properly if you overclock any other device.

Thanks for the proposition dude as I was also planning to have 750W only but 450 was the recommendation from one of my friend, but after seeing above comments it seems that I should have 750W PSU only. and confused about the overcloking as well, like whether the 450W PSU will be able to handle such a major changes in the hardware acceleration? Anyways thank, but which model shall I prefer, which would be better? And from where can I get it?

According to me 450W would be enough for the configuration you have and for that you can have HP 460W POWER SUPPLY, I also have the same PSU Running in my machine. It has 80mm Fan which will thermostatically controlled fans for low acoustic noise, together with this you’ll have Short Circuit Protection, Overload Cutoff Protection, and it assemble with ATX 12V v2.0 Specifications.

See you can have Corsair TX750 750W, OCZ 750W Fatal1ty, you can have power supply form cooler master GX series which is actually made for the gaming machines. After that you can have coolmax M-500B, or you can have corsair CMPSU-750 HX, lifetime series pro 550W, corsair CMPSU-650TX. This was the best option for the PSU that you can have, and according to me ordering from the internet would be best option, though it would charge you quite more but you won’t have to worry about anything as they will ship it to your residence.
