    PSU Suggestion for GTS 450

    Hi all,

I have recently ordered a new GTS 450 - EVGA GeForce GTS 450 FPB (Free Performance Boost)
    http://www.evga.com/products/moreinf...01G-P3-1450-TR

Please suggest a entry level PSU for the following config

    CPU: Intel Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU E5300 @ 2.60GHz
    MBoard: ASUS P5KPL-AM/PS
    Memory: 2 x 2GB Transcend DDR2
    Display: Acer V233H @ 1920x1080

Current GPU: ATI Radeon HD 4350
    Current SMPS: Mercury 400W

My budget is max 3k, I was looking at Corsair CX500, but I could a CX430 @ 2.2k, I am not sure if CX430 will support GTS 450

    Please provide your suggestions.

    Thanks
    Krishna

Re: PSU Suggestion for GTS 450

First of you should always get a high quality unit from Corsair, nzxt, seasonic, Antec, etc. do not buy a cheap psu, like huntkey, raidmax, okia, coolmax, powmax. The psu has to power everything inside your case, not just the graphics card. Your CPU, RAM, hard drive, DVD drive etc all require power. You can try to get the Tagan Stonerock 500W psu for this graphics card and it also comes in your budget. It features the following:

    • Compliant wi t h ATX12V Ver.2.2 and downward versions.
    • 230VAC Input Voltage only.
    • Active Power Factor Correction (PF) > 0.95 at full load.
    • Maximum efficiency up to 83% means power supply produces less heat
    • and emits less noise. An economical and ecological solution.
    • Two independent +12V rails provide different devices individual power thus
    • making the system stable.
    • Universal motherboard compatibility due to 20+4 pin main power as well
    • as 4-pin & 8-pin +12V power connectors.
