Need power supply for 5850 video card.

Hi I am planning to get a 2 new Sapphire 5850 to xfire. And as I wanted to know that will 600 watt power supply be enough for using 5850 video card? What would be a good size without overkill? As I am really excited in buying this card and can’t wait to get this card set up. And how much warranty does xfx provide?

Re: Need power supply for 5850 video card.

Hi as far as I know xFx warranties are basic of 5 years. As I would suggest you to buy a 750w power supply bare minimum. As I think that it’s better to buy power supply with more watt as you currently have a 600 watt power supply that might not support in future so I would suggest you to buy a 750 watt now that will work well in future as well.

Re: Need power supply for 5850 video card.

Hi I have been using 2x 5850 in crossfire + amd 1055T Overclocking to 3.8 GHz. And I have a kill watt and as far as I remember I think that it hardly reaches 400 Watt on full load when don’t even overclock. But still I will check it once again today for conformation and I will get back top with the exact information that how much power does it uses from the wall.
