HP 2.4GHz Wireless Optical Mobile Mouse not working

Hey guys yesterday morning I purchased New HP 2.4GHz Wireless Optical Mobile Mouse for my cousin. It worked well for one day but now my cousin is complaining that the wireless mouse has stopped working and is not responding to anything. He is using an Acer Desktop (Acerpower M8) computer which is running Windows Vista Operating System in it. Me and my little cousin is unable to figure out what must be causing this problem. Please help me by giving your quality suggestions.

re: HP 2.4GHz Wireless Optical Mobile Mouse not working

I would suggest you to check out whether your HP 2.4GHz Wireless Optical (Charcoal) Mobile Mouse is having charge in it or not. You said that you purchased it yesterday and since then you have used it. So there are chances that the charge of your wireless mouse must have drained up and that is why it is not working now and not responding at all. So I would suggest you to first put your HP wireless mobile mouse for charge and then use it. Check if your HP wireless mouse is working properly after getting it fully charged.

re: HP 2.4GHz Wireless Optical Mobile Mouse not working

There must be some problem with the installation of your HP 2.4GHz Wireless Optical (Charcoal) Mobile Mouse. You should probably uninstall the mouse from your system and then install it again. You can uninstall the wireless mouse by going to the Device Manager. Go to Start button and then click on the Control Panel. Now select System and Maintenance followed by double-clicking on Device manager option to start the Device Manager Window. Scroll down to USB option and check out on which port your wireless mouse is connected. Right click on the name of the mouse and click on uninstall to uninstall the mouse. Restart your computer. On restart the computer will automatically detect the new hardware and install it in your system.

re: HP 2.4GHz Wireless Optical Mobile Mouse not working

According to me there is some issue with the USB port of your laptop. I would recommend you to insert the USB connector of your HP 2.4GHz Wireless Optical (Charcoal) Mobile Mouse to some other USB port of your laptop. There are chances that the USB port in which you have inserted your mouse must not be working because some reason. So it is better if you check out by connecting the mouse on other USB, both front and rear one. Hopefully that might solve your problem.

You must have not installed all the necessary drivers for your HP 2.4GHz Wireless Optical (Charcoal) Mobile Mouse in your Acer Desktop computer. So I would recommend you to install the necessary drivers for your wireless mouse in your Acer desktop by using the original drivers CD which you must have got while you purchased the HP wireless optical mobile mouse. Once you have installed the drivers, restart your system to bring the changes in your system into effect.

re: HP 2.4GHz Wireless Optical Mobile Mouse not working

Your wireless mouse seems to be malfunctioning because it must be defected. So the best solution for this would be to contact the nearest HP Service center and submit your HP 2.4GHz Wireless Optical (Charcoal) Mobile Mouse for repairing or replacement as per the severity of the damage happened to your wireless optical mouse. If you are unable to find any HP Service Center in the nearby area then you can also send your wireless Mobile mouse for replacement to the store from where you purchased your HP wireless mobile mouse.

Thank you, everyone of you for spending your precious time on solving my issue with my HP 2.4GHz Wireless Optical (Charcoal) Mobile Mouse. It was very kind of you guys to do so and reply your valuable suggestions here on my thread. Thank you a lot for your time and your efforts. After reading your suggestions, I did everything one by one. And within 3rd attempt itself I was able to solve my problem. It seems like the USB port to which my wireless mouse was connected, was not working properly. After changing it to another USB port, everything start working normal and smoothly.

Re: HP 2.4GHz Wireless Optical Mobile Mouse not working

    Ni hao forums!,

My HP 2.4GHz wireless optical mobile mouse that I purchased with my HP Mini 210 (ten point one inch) "netbook" PC from hp.com online in April, 2011 has stopped working. I had this same problem in June while in China but it mysteriously resolved itself then.

Now today, I unplugged the power, removed the battery, held the power slide button for 20 seconds to discharge the capacitors but that procedure did not resolve the problem.

I uninstalled the mouse software and allowed Windows 7 Home Premium to install the mouse on any of three different USB ports but the mouse still doesn't function.

The built-in mouse pad and pointer works but the mouse does not. I have explored HP's website thoroughly but have not found any satisfaction in an effort to resolve this "defect." I placed a fully charged battery in the mouse so the issue must not be a battery problem.

Is there a software "switch" that I could toggle that might resolve this lame issue?

Please hurry with your answer: randel (at) hawaii (dot) edu

Re: HP 2.4GHz Wireless Optical Mobile Mouse not working

This is an common issue with this mouse which is faced by many users. The reason is still not found. It can be due to overheating due to less space inside the mouse to dissipate heat. Anyhow there are two things you can try. First download the software by clicking the below link and run it. Before it uninstall the mouse completely. And update our systems bluetooth driver. Later on use the below link to run the fresh setup of its pc suite. Second you can try using a usb support to the mouse. There are certain adapters that can help you for the same.
