How to record a digital broadcasted programme on Samsung DVD-V5600

It is possible to record a digital channel on your DVD-V5600 combo. You can do this by connecting it to the digital receiver i.e. satellite, set top box, cable or television using a SCART cable. Before recording a programme, you should switch to the corresponding digital channel. Follow the steps below:
    • Plug a SCART cable into the digital receiver SCART terminal and connect it to the AV2 SCART terminal on the back of the DVD.

    • Connect one end of another SCART cable to the AV1 SCART terminal on the back of the DVD and the other end to the appropriate SCART connector on the television.

    • After making this connection, press the INPUT SEL button on the remote control.

    • Preset the channel received through the satellite tuner.

    Recording a programme:

Once the channel has been preset, follow the steps given below for recording a programme.
    • Switch on the television.

    • Insert a video tape in to the VCR deck. The DVD-VCR is switched on automatically. Check if the video tape is recordable by checking the safety tab on it. If the tab is broken the tape will not record anything. You can cover the safety tab with an adhesive tape to make the tape recordable.

    • Select the station by pressing the PROG or V button and the source (AV2) by pressing the INPUT SEL button on the remote control. The station number will be displayed and you will be able to see the programme on the television.

    • Select the recording speed by pressing the SPEED button as many times as required.

    • Press the REC button to start the recording. The record indicator appears on the television and the display of the DVD-VCR combo.

    • To stop the recording, press the Stop button once.
