Packaging is always the same for fans Scythe: a flat box containing a plastic resealable cardboard tray on which is deposited on the ventilator bundle and compartmentalized. The bundle consists of screw and adapter 3 pin / molex. Blades are very long and slender. It aims to reduce noise and achieve a sound much more pleasant. There are many gray and white (thus Alas messy but nice to the eye). It may be noted on the edge of the blades on a small portion near the center of the helix a small detent which reduces turbulence and noise.

The fans feature a double ball bearing visible behind the propeller on the engine. Ball bearings are pledges of silence. The propeller is a slight liberty with anarchy suspended to avoid vibrations. Bearings give some weight to the fan, quite heavy. The fan is powered by a 3-pin cable unsheathed. The cable length is good enough to mount a fan almost wherever you want in the box.

Scythe has announced its line of fans Gentle Typhoon, made reality by the Japanese firm Nidec Servo. Two sizes are available with O92 and Ø120 mm. Each is available in several models of different speed. The general characteristics of the manufacturer are:

    • 120 mm - 500 rpm: 0.015 A - 5 dBA - 31 m³ / h
    • 120 mm - 800 rpm: 0023 A - 9 dBA - 48 m³ / h
    • 120 mm - 1150 rpm: 0034 A - 16 dBA - 63 m³ / h
    • 120 mm - 1450 rpm: 0049 A - 21 dBA - 85 m³ / h
    • 120 mm - 1850 rpm: 0083 A - 28 dBA - 98 m³ / h
    • 92 mm - 1700 rpm: 0.03 A - 13 dBA - 44 m³ / h
    • 92 mm - 2150 rpm: 0046 A - 20 dBA - 58 m³ / h
    • 92 mm - 2650 rpm: 0078 A - 26 dBA - 71 m³ / h

Form well in front of the blades is assumed to reduce perceived noise in high speed due to turbulence and have a sound more pleasing to the ear. They include a guide to dual ball bearings and a structure intended to reduce vibration. Their prices are a bit more reasonable than many manufacturers with 6.4 € for versions O92 mm and 8 € for versions Ø120 mm, all duty free.
