how can i Converting to Sata 3

I have bought a second hand computer from one of my friend and it nearly three year old, which is HP Pavilion model m7640n. It is working fine for me, but some friend forced me to change the sata 2. I would like to upgrade to a SATA hard drive, 3. But I guess my old computer that has sata 2 I think that also would require some kind of update. Will I get the benefit of the speed of SATA 3 if I add a PCI SATA 3? I don’t know about sata 3 I mean how it works and what is the benefit I get. If someone provide me suggestion so it’s better for me.

If you are not happy now with SATA2, then SATA3 is not better for you all that are creating a "bottleneck" that would be more obvious than before. The SATA3 working properly, the computer would have to keep up, etc., but in general depending on your everyday jobs, what advantage there is only real world performance will tell. If your computer came among SATA2, and it may show development, then it’s ok if not, then more likely. I hope my information will help you.

"Understand that the 6 Gb/sec transport rate is a marketing gimmick. No automatic hard disk will ever saturate even a 3 Gb/sec (SATA II) interface". It means this is a point less question. I am using SATA 2 from last three year and working very well for me. And also it its depending your work. But I would like suggest you that do not think about sata 3 if your sata2 working fine , if there is any problem have with your sata32 then only think about to change this otherwise sata 2 is also better. Sata3 is also a just next version of sata2 there is just little changes.

While it is right that automatic HDDs will not at all saturate 6GBs, the truth remains that this is becoming the fresh standard. So, in the similar way that the SATA 1 spec drives have all but left, the SATA 2 much drives fall into the, "this also shall pass", group. That said, manufacturers will probably upgrade the HDD SATA 3 electronics to specs, but probably will not be able to do much to improve the transfer speed mechanics. So you will not find SATA 2 (300Gbs) hard disk as the new specification takes over. But going to boil down to this, himself, the chip different

I just buy a discounted 1 TB SATA 3 6bg/s. There is a pair of things that I heard about SATA 3.
    • It will make use of PCI express lanes to get to complete speeds.
    • It cannot reach full speeds so far.
    • I should have just gone among a SSD.

I think this information will help you, now after reading all this you will be able to take a dissension. Or otherwise you have some more option that is, you have to see the all feature of sata3 on web site and then take any decision. Or you can call on any shop they actually tell you about your confusion.
