Need information on Antec Dark Fleet DF-35

When I was looking for the computer case, some of my friend told me about the Antec series. Hence, I am here to get some more information on Antec Dark Fleet DF-35. They told me that although Antec with the new "Dark Fleet" series and thus with the DF-35 does not reinvent the wheel, the design is very independent and is playful that have some design elements and functionality, the user noticing, however, only on closer inspection. I thought to post here and get some notes from you members. So please provide information that would be useful for me.

The cover is, compared to the rest of the case, made spectacular and includes the rear end only a 140-mm LED fan, which is the only fan in the housing is not illuminated white. At the back of the standard structure is related to: the top of a 120-mm LED fan and ATX panel, including seven backplate for installation of expansion cards and finally the power supply at the bottom. The ATX panel is provided including holes punched for two COM ports and a LPT port. The backplate can be broken only irrevocable. The power supply at the bottom can be used with the fan in the direction of main board and toward the bottom to be mounted - so much for theory. In practice, provides the floor of the Antec DF-35 has no opening through which the fan could get its fresh air. Speaking of subsoil: A look at the case investigated, insulating feet, which absorb the vibrations from inside a little, unfortunately in vain. Instead, as the DF-35 on four cylinders, hard plastic.

The facilities at the rear and lower part of the housing has been more of mau, as has the left side wall, a welcome change. This has a large viewing window that is decorated with some ventilation slots to install an additional fan. The right side wall is made entirely of sheet metal and with only the bottom of the text "Antec design" - an all too clear indication what was used in the development of this housing the most energy. In the processing of Antec's DF-35 Dark Fleet there, as far as the metal parts, nothing wrong. In particular, the well-applied paint convinced. If the side walls, which are somewhat difficult to assemble (de), first put on the chassis, the whole case is very stable. The situation is different from the plastic handle at the top of the front. This is at the edges so sharp that we have injured while cleaning it.

A closer look at the interior reveals that the buyer can expect in terms of convenience when incorporating its hardware is not too much. As mentioned above, the adapter can be at the lower end, both with the fans in the direction of the interior set and counter installed, but it serves as the base no opening through which may relate to the current donor's fresh air. In the motherboard tray, it looks similar. There are no openings available to route the cables behind the tray and thus in the interior as little resistance to air flow from front to give back. That being said would offer the Antec DF-35 Dark Fleet due to its slim design anyway little space between the motherboard tray and outer wall. Fortunately, however, is ready a generously sized opening behind the motherboard so that a CPU cooler with back-plate can be mounted without having to unscrew the motherboard. The front area has two welcome volunteers to enable each one hard disk, 3.5-inch format on the fly to change, without having to open the housing need. The two hot-swappable modules are bolted to the housing and connected at the rear end to the motherboard power supply, respectively. During operation, the lower of the two 120-mm LED fan in the front pulled away, the hard disk are removed. This man must refuse to use the attachment of the sensitive volume by two screws. Thus, the two modules are more in the category of "nice to have" as they are useful.

Quite straightforward to install our test system has not gone CARRIED. For one thing, the lack of helpers in the interior, leading to the other on the narrow width of the housing back. Since the motherboard tray offers no opening to running wires behind it, we had no choice but to cross the cables leading through the housing. While that was a problem with the cables of the port kits, especially prepared the SATA cable from the dock at the upper end of the housing problems because they are too short to be to move properly while still connecting. In operation, it soon became clear that Antec's DF-35 is completely tuned for performance. The fans really howl on, to turn on the PC. To reduce these noises, Antec has built a fan control. Thus, the two front fans are controlled via a small potentiometer, for the two fans in the lid and the rear wall is one slider available. Really a lot of changes in the perceived noise but not when all the fans are driven by fan control down to the minimum.

In addition, the slider on the back are difficult to operate, because the switch is only minimally from the rear wall surface. For graphics cards, the DF-35 Antec enough space to accommodate the most popular 3D-accelerators. At 29.2 inches it is only problematic longest ATI card, the Radeon HD 5970, installed. This requires about two more inches. The volume measurements were made with a "V Craft Digital Sound Level Meter 320" carried out measures the sound level in the range of 30 to 120 decibels. The overall volume of the measuring room was subjectively perceived silence below the measurement range, ie less than 30 decibels. The distance was half a meter in this case - to the usual minimum distance between the user and system to get close.
