Power usage of Intel core i5 2500t and 2500k when underclocked

I needed to know if anyone is having any idea regarding this topic. Well after reading the title you must have slightly got a hint about the topic that I want to explain to you all. Have anyone tried underclocking their processor. If anyone has tried then do you have any idea about the power usage of the processors during the process. I am having a intel core i5 2500t and also the intel core i5 2500k. I needed to know what the power usage of the processor’s will be when they are underclocked. I thought you all must be having a fair knowledge regarding this topic so that why I decided to ask this from you all. If you have any comparison report or any such chart regarding this matter then do share it with me. Since underclocking is a new process to me I am quite excited about it.

It all depends upon the speed of the processor that you want to underclock it. Well the normal consumption rate for the 2500T is the 45W while that of the 2500K would be around 95W. So it all depends upon the speed of the processor that you want while underclocking it. So I think if you specify more about the speed that you want for the underclocking then it would be great. According to me underclocking a 2500K would be a very difficult task when compared to the 2500T.

I am thinking of underclocking it up to the speed of 2.3GHz. I also have some more queries regarding this topic. I needed to know that when we are underclocking the processors does the turbo boost technology gets activated while we are on the process. If yes then do let me know. I also have heard about the 2500 and also the 2500S series of the intel core. So which one of the all four processors would be the best processors to underclock. So do clear out my this queries as well.

According to me of all the processors that you have listed I think underclocking 2500s would be av very easy task. If you are looking to underclock the 2500K to around 2.3GHz, then it will speed itself to around 2.7GHz itself with the turbo boost technology. So there is no use underclocking 2500K processor. As per as the power usage during the underclocking of the processor is concerned then it will be around 95W for the 2500K and the 2500T processor as well. While the 2500S would consume up to 65W of power usage during the underclocking. So I hope you have got all the necessary suggestions that you were looking for.

I think so for underclocking it all depends on the motherboard as well. The motherboard might not allow to change the connector that are required for the underclocking process. So do have a look at the motherboard that you are using when you are trying to underclock the processor. I have heard that the h66/ 67 model do not allow to do such features. So better do have a check of your motherboard. As per locking is concerned then 2500, 2500s and the 2500t would be a good option for the underclocking. I think you must better leave the option of 2500K to underclock. I hope this suggestion was useful for you.
