Price of crossover cable in India?

I want to connect two computers so that I can share the internet connection without using a router. In a site, it was mentioned that I cant use the ordinary LAN cable for that purpose, instead I need an ethernet crossover cable. How much does it cost and where can I purchase it online?

On a cross over cable you can try out different types. Like either a long cable as per meter or you can use a patch cord. The standard cables in this range are CAT5, CAT5e and CAT6. They are used for normal office or home network and comes with patch cable also. The other is UTP and UTP-600. The cables are charged as per meter, foot and patch cord wise. For a 300 meter pack you will have to pay around 3900 aprox. For patch cord is between 100 to 150 and for the long cable around a meter can be purchased on 60 to 90 approx.

I'd like to connect two laptops. As you've mentioned, there are different crossover cables. Which one should I use? CAT5, CAT5e, CAT6, UTP or UTP-600? I've to connect a Dell Inspiron 8600 and a Dell Inspiron 14. I just need around 1.5-2 metre length cable. How much will it cost and can I purchase it online? If yes, where?
