Technical data of Aerocool V-Touch Pro

I am having some idea about this cooler. Aero Cool V-Touch has the series an interesting lineup of affordable housing that will make less by size or specific materials but rather with equipment with some special features attention. The series consists of three variants of the same chassis, which always differ by the left side. The "V-Touch" with no suffix added in the side wall openings for two 120-mm fan, the "V-Touch A" has at this point a large Plexiglas window and finally there is still we have tested version "V Touch Pro" in which to provide a firmly built into the side fan with exceptional 40 centimeters in diameter for additional cooling performance. But the main thing is that I want to know about the technical data. I hope that someone hanging out there will provide me with it.

A special feature of all variants is an integrated into the front touch screen, which takes over all functions, including display and operation of the housing. This includes the usual functions of power and reset buttons and LEDs for system status and HDD activity and the display of three temperatures, three fan speeds and the regulation thereof. Despite these features all versions cost only 50 to 70 euro. The technical data of the housing in a compact overview:
    • Material: steel (0.6 mm), plastic
    • Dimensions: 430 x 200 x 440 mm (H x W x D)
    • Weight: about 7.2 kg
    • four 5.25" front drive bays
    • a 3.5" front drive bay
    • five bays for 3.5" hard drives
    • two seats for 120-mm fan in front and back (no fans included), (400 rpm) 40-cm fan in the side wall
    • Motherboard form factors: ATX and Micro ATX
    • The two USB and audio ports in the lid
    • Touchscreen with temperature sensors and fan control

For energy-saving office systems like the vent be by the power supply or additional ventilation to the 40-inch fan is still sufficient, but even at mid-range systems, the inclined be forced to install 120-mm fan in the designated areas. Although the housing prices are lowered by fans as an option, but the purchaser should then also take care of themselves to their selection. Otherwise included everything you need: screws, spacers, drive rails, temperature sensors and fan cable for use with the touchscreen. The locks for the optical drives are not mounted, they are also in a bag in the housing.

The general appearance of the V-Touch Pro is - should be called quite simply - at least in the off state. Colour accents are missing as well as high-gloss surfaces or highly unusual shapes, only the bulge of the large fan and its white rotor are slightly emphasized. The case is matte black, but there are differences in the surface and its visible and tangible structures. The sides and lid are as painted steel, the front panels of dull plastic (the rest of the panel, however, has a surface that is otherwise rather in the range of input devices and mobile phones known as "soft-touch surface). This means a velvety texture and, unfortunately, in most lighting situations, a rather dark gray than black color impression. The front panels and painted steel, however, are actually jet black, so that unfortunately rarely sets a uniform surface appearance. The removable front panel with a handle containing besides the usual covers the usual front ports, a manufacturer's logo at the bottom and the mirror-touch portrait mode in between. Cover, right side wall and back of the case are far less spectacular and offer no special features.

The interior is built up quite conservative, with a layout, as known since the dawn of ATX: The power supply back up attached, placed among them on a non-removable support the motherboard in a standard or micro-ATX format. Behind the front there is a cage for four 5.25" drives, including a really long outdated 3.5" slot with front panel and on the floor behind the front fan and a transversely mounted cage for five 3.5" hard drives based on plastic rails and the connections with the direction of left side wall. As the disks to their rails, the other drives can be mounted without screws and with both screws - at delivery, however, are no fasteners installed, you can find them in the obligatory accessory carton. For the fans and the expansion cards (the boards may be up to 265 mm in length) was omitted or screwless mounting thumbscrews unfortunately. Since some high-end cards in addition to the board length depending on the type often require additional power connector, it can certainly be scarce. At the maximum amount of CPU coolers is already at 165 millimeters circuit.

With its compact dimensions, the choice of steel as base material, some reinforcements in the corners and associated drive cages is the Aero Cool V-Touch Pro basically very stable, including the processing of steel and plastic is largely good. In the selection of materials and surfaces, however, should be expected in a minority of buyers enthused, because the soft-touch front and in particular the box do not work for the side fan around very high quality. This is limited however to the optics, which does not restrict the usability and is also a matter of taste. Other plastic parts that need to complain, we unfortunately are the locks on the optical drives. These are held in the locked state of two tiny plastic tabs that break off but after once or twice, often interlocking, so at this point at some point fall back on screws must. We have seen with other manufacturers already much better. Otherwise, there was the installation of test hardware no problems. At this point Note: The side you should never start off with a running fan or because the rotor drags due to its diameter and its inertia with little change in the position of the side wall has at its plastic grid and causes unpleasant noise. We come now to the element that makes all V-Touch models: the touch screen. Once the computer with power, however, is still switched off, only the symbol for the power button panel and a manufacturer's logo, which is located directly above the fixed emblem and similar large, dimly lit. As the display viewing angle is not completely stable, but you can see from some angles even when turned off, all sections. Even the backlight of the display appears at the edges by something. Pressing the power switch box to the PC, the screen brightness is greatly increased and the rest of the display and control fields are visible.

Re: Technical data of Aerocool V-Touch Pro

There are three ads for temperatures and fan speeds. A light touch on one of these values enabled the setting mode, the "+" - and "-" keys you can now set the warning temperature and the desired fan speed. This is minimal at 60 percent of the maximum speed at 12 volts. As the fan control the fan speed to its signal (PWM) and regulates not only by means of a set voltage, fan speed are without this signal is not usable with the controller. This concerns in particular the 40-cm fan in the control panel. The does have a solder pad for a corresponding three-pole cable, but this is not used. Aerocool recommended in the instruction booklet, the fan due to its low rated speed not to be connected to the fan control. The power consumption of about seven watts should play a role. Of these, temperature alarm and fan control worked well apart, even if the housing needs at startup for a while about the fan at its specified speed to bring. The temperatures were measured while the system is running the 3DMark Vantage as a continuous loop. The volume measurements were made with a "V Craft Digital Sound Level Meter 320" carried out measures the sound level in the range of 30 to 120 decibels. The overall volume of the measuring room was subjectively perceived silence below the measurement range, ie less than 30 decibels. Regarding the volume can not convince the V-Touch Pro. With full 12 volts of the large side fan turns while only 400 revolutions per minute, is the large diameter but still very loud. Operating at 5 volts, the fan refused, started with an initial control, it will be easy after a few seconds.

Operating at 5 volts, the fan refused, started with an initial control, it will be easy after a few seconds.
Therefore, we have switched off the fan for the measurements of the quiet settings easy and the rest of the fan using the integrated fan controller operated at the minimum, which is always 60 percent of the maximum speed of the fan and used about 700 minutes at the rpm. Thus, the system is quietly, but leaves no contest in itself more as Aerocool is involved with any fan to own this measurement. What can be said, however, is that the thermal performance of housing greatly within limits by the quasi-open side wall penetrates each note, the fan, video card and hard drives produce virtually unhindered outside. At the temperatures it looks good, even without the large side fan and a reduced voltage, the temperatures are still within reasonable range. At full voltage and with side fans they are actually quite good, but what - is bought by a rather high volume - as already described. In addition, the system tested by our choice of the fans is a special case of necessity, because no fan assembly is specified by the manufacturer.
