Hardware configuration of the server

I have had a look on the different servers in the different organization's and i have observed that they appear to be very large. When i compare it with the CPU of my system, my CPU appears to be very small. So i am very eager to know what can be the configuration present inside the server that makes it so fast and what they will be using to store such a large amount of data. So it would be grateful of you if you can provide me the necessary information on this particular topic.

Well if you talk about the servers then who else than IBM. IBM probably the best manufacturer's of the server. Servers can be of storage as well as for computing. So the configuration can be sometimes complex. Basically when you are talking about the IBM there are basically four type's of servers. 2U computer server, 2U storage server, 2U input/output server, 3U storage server. Now if you are thinking of setting up a server at home then you can do it on your own. I will give you a configuration that will help your system to turn into a server

OK thanks for your advice but i needed more information on the IBM servers configuration. Probably i will try setting up a server at home but that the secondary thing. Primarily right now i want to know more about the IBM servers that you are talking about basically the 2U and the 3U stuff. So it would be grateful if you give me more information on that particular IBM servers. So help me out.

OK, 2U compute server are the two identical boards that are placed one upon the another. The have two independent 1U servers. the dx-320 system board supports one 3.5-inch simple-swap hard disk drive. There are two dx-360 drives one is dx-360M2 and the other is dx-360M3. dx-360 M2 supports 2.5 inch simple swap hard disk drive and dx-360M3 supports 3.5 inch simple swap hard disk drive.while the 2U storage server has x340, dx360, dx360 M2, and dx360 M3 servers to have up to four 3.5-inch simple-swap SAS hard disk drives. While the 3U storage server is having dx340 system-board tray, a dx360 and a dx360 M3 system-board tray with up to twelve 3.5-inch sata hard disk drive. I hope this information is enough.
