Technical data of Lian Li PC-B25F

Besides the usual necessary material on the bolts and spacers as well as instructions are PC-B25F two plastic clips for fixing the cable, a loudspeaker for Main Board and a metal bracket for screwless mounting of the power supply at. The insulation as an option, of course, deserves special mention - in the obligatory points and on the ground and the side walls, the insulation mats already installed, but there is the equipment at its sole discretion other mats. These are for each of the insulated Case King housing tailored to their respectively covered slots, in this case to the bays of the five fans, and the three 5.25" panels. How to proceed exactly is declared a short additional guide, the Case-king the housing attaches. The interested buyer can then decide how far it is willing to cooling power in favor of a quiet computer. One criticism is the lack of an extension for the 8-pin EPS connector, since at bottom mounted power supply, this cable is too short or sometimes forcing at least for most configurations, an unpleasant cable management. The technical data of the housing in a compact overview:
    • Material: aluminum, plastic, Sound Deadening Foam
    • Color: Black
    • Dimensions: approx 505 x 210 x 495 mm (H x W x D)
    • Weight: about 7.1 kg
    • three 5.25" front drive bays (one with an adapter for 3.5" devices usable)
    • six bays for 3.5 "hard drives
    • eight expansion slots
    • two 120-mm fan (1,200 rpm) in the front
    • a 120 mm fan (1,500 rpm) on the back
    • two 140-mm fan (1,000 rpm) in the cover
    • Motherboard form factors: ATX, Micro ATX
    • one eSATA, two USB and two audio ports in the lid

Re: Technical data of Lian Li PC-B25F

The PC-B25F fits seamlessly into the outer appearance of the rest of the Lian-Li portfolio. As usual, dominate large areas of brushed aluminum, which are interrupted at the front only by the discreet front panel and the large blue ring at the bottom. This ring is the most striking design feature on the PC-B25F, even when turned off - and even more in use because of something behind the front set-back blue plastic then also illuminated by SMD LEDs. Many parts are obviously the same as other cases the manufacturer, the cover panel with beveled edges and perforated design - an element that is at Lian Li has been used for years - looks, for example, the same as the design for the PC-P50 Armorsuit. Precisely at the point that you look at most frequently - the panel on the front edge of the lid - but Lian Li has saved and used plastic. This part of the lid with its many edges in a small space would be made of metal probably too difficult - or virtually impossible - to manufacture, but had a slightly easier-held aluminum construction better fit into the overall picture than the plastic that is optically very clear from the rest of the housing is different. Another notable difference is that the front cover is not attached too tightly to the body. Even if it is to be welcomed that the front and lid should be removed with one hand - the cover we are not even sure whether it would stand up to gravity when you turn the housing. As the need to remove the lid, not unlike the front is given us here would like a screw better. This would also prevent vibrations, which would be a case of this price range really inappropriate.

Apart from the plastic lid in the material but completely convincing, the brushed and anodized aluminum surfaces, edges and punches are perfectly finished and make a very classy look. The connectors and switches in the Port-kit fits all sitting there, where they are sitting, what with the cases currently on the market has been almost a rarity. After opening of the side walls of the buyer expects a tidy interior of polished aluminum. The most important and dangerous edges are folded - but not all. The structure of the interior is on the current state of the art: The board is mounted on a non-removable carrier, the openings for attaching the cable, and a larger section in the CPU has. On most motherboards can switch the CPU cooler or be changed without the whole system to take it apart. For the cooler is the PC-B25F in general and in the insulated version in particular is not too much space, 170 millimeters of air between the main board and insulated side wall is not a record, but for most large tower cooler just adequate. Also there is not much room between the motherboard and front cover, so that is not to think about the installation of a radiator at this point. The two 140-millimeter fan in the cover are on the actual cover, which also forms a rudimentary fan grill, set up, but disappear under the fitted lid aperture. A massive fan grill, however, is bolted from the inside at the rear 120mm fan.

The expansion cards are each individually with a small lever fixed. In PC-B25F there are eight such slots, of which only the top seven actually used by ATX boards, and only they have the tool-less mounting option. The length of the cards without bracket and possibly may include electricity executor exceed more than 28 inches, resulting in one or the other high-end card is too short. is the cards into two padded sections on the power supply, which sucks air through air vents and an underlying dust filter. It can be mounted normally with four screws, but also is a large metal bracket supplied, will be secured in two places and fixed the power supply as a strap to the chassis. Between ground and power supply is about one centimeter square, so the PSU can suck in addition to fresh air through the dust filter and air from the interior of the housing - which is likely, however, have little measurable effect on the temperatures in the case.

Before the power supply equipped our copy of PC-B25F already with two small insulating mats, which cover almost all of the remaining soil. Unfortunately, these mats cover the holes for fastening the cable clamps, so there is the insulated version tends more chaos in the interior than in the non-insulated. On a small base of 3.5" cage is attached to the hard disks, are must for easier installation of the devices as is shot these days are 90 degrees. Removed to install additional hard drives, only the left side wall. The hard drives with four small rubber pads provided, pushed into the cage and then locked by a thumb screw is loosened and moved vertically. In this cage, the one sucking fan sitting in the proven 120-mm format, the decoupled as any other fan with rubber bumpers and air filters are provided that are accessible when you remove a handle, the front panel, however, the manufacturer of the existence of the rubber buffer appears in the design of the fan is not considered to have as they can stand out by something from the case and draw in unfiltered air -.. a clear design flaw. About the hard drives there is the mandatory 5.25" cage, with Lian Li in times of increasing irrelevance of optical disks on only three 5.25" limited slots. Two of them are equipped with a tool-free locking system, the third slot is equipped with an adapter for 3.5" devices. All devices can be alternatively screwed completely. The installation of test hardware in the Lian Li PC-B25F was done quickly like no other housing. It was of no serious problems and the tool-free installation of all components except the motherboard speed up the installation considerably.

The interlocks for drives and expansion cards operate properly and serve their purpose very well. Even the fan can be placed in the rear to the dismantled without tools - they can be removed along with the screw down rubber buffer with a handle. The quality of the material has been received in almost every way, only the rim of the port kits in plastic suits as not fit into the picture and the fans were not on the level, which is otherwise is to expect from Lian Li. Up to 1,500 rpm are designed for low volume in a case too much. There are also, at least in our test copy slight bearing noise from one of the two fans in the lid - so here there's still room for improvement. The most obvious features - the processing of aluminum inside and out and the black anodizing - but are beyond any doubt.

The insulation of Case King left a largely positive impression. As already mentioned, is a mandatory part of the mats at sites already installed, for other positions - primarily slots for fans - is appropriately tailored mats are included. So you get a nearly ready-made insulated enclosure for a modest premium over the standard version. It is, however, relatively light foam mats to help mainly to higher-frequency noise and less vibration to low frequency hum. But would the mats be much heavier, which would, however, affect through the use of bitumen such as disks also strongly on price and on the body weight. It would be nice if the King King Case-Mod service would also offer various types of insulation. Overall, the insulation of Case King but a good offer for anyone to build a silent system and did not even want to deal with the adaptation of the insulation - and of course for people who lack the necessary skills for it. The low volume of the insulated Lian Li PC-B25F exceeds all of the recently tested non-insulated housing. In the closed-loop operation with reduced voltage, the housing is virtually inaudible - the only night we could test with otherwise - perform complete silence - to the extent feasible. With 12 volts can the fans due to their specifications with up to 1,500 rpm / listen, however. With a take of the two 140-mm fans also insulation mat attached to the lid, the housing is below the measurement range of our instrument. By the solid front without directly leading to the outside air vents and insulation are also due to the noise of the hard drives effectively suppressed. Very good.
