hp laptop integrated webcam problem

ok so i have a hp webcam integrated in my laptop, and when i installed the driver software the laptop restarted itself and now when i try to install the driver for the webcam again, it doesn't want.
i mean.. i double click on it, i see the command prompt stuff that i saw from the previous installations, but it just closes and i can't do anything.
in programs like yahoo messenger or camtasia studio my webcam works fine but i need the driver software so badly.
i looked a little in the registry for any trace of a remaining "bit" of the driver that causes it to not install, but i got nothing. same with programs and features.

so please help me guys. thanks in advance

You must have got a CD that came with the webcam and it has all the related drivers for your webcam. Normally when you insert that CD to your laptop then it will automatically show you the setup screen and you just have to follow the simple onscreen instructions. But there are some cases where it does not make the autorun features then you can do the following to install that.

1. First of all click on start button.
2. Click On Run.
3. Select the Browse button from there.
4. Select the CD-ROM drive from drop down.
5. Now highlight the SETUP.EXE or INSTALL.EXE.
6. Click on Open.

This will now open the same screen that it show automatically and you just have to follow the online instructions.

i don't have a cd that came with the laptop. i just downloaded the drivers from the hp website
