    Issue with formatting USB stick

Few days before I purchased a USB stick through which I can play music into my car stereo. The USB should be formatted with MS-Dos. I was having some disk utility. Using the disk utility I have formatted the USB stick. This has created another partition and saying that the device is formatted with Mac operating system Extended. The stick has been formatted successfully completed. After when I inserted the USB stick into my stereo it displays an error message saying that the USB is in the wrong format.

Steps to create different partition and erase data from second partition:

    1. Insert your USB stick into the system. Select disk utility and this time use a tab named”Partition”.
    2. Set the first Partition tab to file system using MS-Dos. Click on option button and change the partition table to MBR.
    3. Click on start button to start the partitioning. It will erase all the data from the second partition.

Re: Issue with formatting USB stick

The partitioning problem of USB stick can be solved by using third party software. This can be done by using software named Disk Management. Download the software named disk management on your system and Install it. Insert your USB stick and launch disk management software then select your USB drive and click on analysis to do the analysis of the stick. If you want to format the USB then click on format to format it. The formatting will erase all the created partition and data will be erased. Thus the USB is cleaned.
