| Re: Different models Spinpoint F1
The HD103UJ is the top model of the new line of Samsung Spinpoint F1. If all models have the same data density, the same rotational speed and the same interface (about 333 GB per platter, 7200 rpm SATA/300), only models 1000 GB and 750 GB have 32 MB cache. Samsung's documentation talks about an access time of 8.9 ms, which leads in practice to an average access time of 14.2 ms (rotational latency range). This is worse than Seagate (12.7 ms) or even Hitachi (13.8), but better than the 15.1 ms Caviar GP from Western Digital. If you want to do the Configuration test, the following are some recommended components:

| Re: Different models Spinpoint F1
Unlike Seagate, Samsung has never really optimized the mechanics of its music, and is doing so again with a value very average, 1.5 ms slower than the 7200.11, and only 0.8 ms faster that Western Digital drives at 5400 rpm. A value that is identical to that of T166, the older generation. Still, if Samsung is coming up behind, it is not dropped by much. The flow curve of the Samsung F1 has a wave nature (in contrast to levels observed in the Seagate 7200.11 and the linearity of the flow of Caviar Green Power ) betraying the fact that the manufacturer has always adaptive format. The flow is still divided in half between the beginning and end of the disc. Contrary to 7200.11, the F1 takes a little longer with the interface S-ATA 300 MB / s up to 176 MB / s max when data is transferred from the 32MB of disk cache. This is a little less than what we observed on the Hitachi 7K1000, however, although this remains anecdotal point of view of performance in practice hard to recall. |

| Re: Different models Spinpoint F1
I would like to mount 2 drives in raid of 160 + GB for the system program. In your opinion what should we choose?
