A dongle is a piece of hardware which is attached to a computer to make secured software run on your machine , it is used to prevent as high end form of security for unauthorized copying of software anywhere in your machine. So you have to make sure you are not using unauthorized software in your machine because of which your machine is creating problem.

To ensure you don't face such problems again check for the copy protection device which you are using is plugged in properly and no other devices are attached to the same parallel port. if you are using other device to same parallel port make sure you remove that so that your current device which you want to use work fine. This way you will able to avoid the dongle problem.

I think you are facing problem with dongle because you are trying to copy from the existing machine, you need to install software with installer on the CD which is provided by the Formation Design Systems. You might be using protection device type which you have selected at installation is not matching with the physical device used because of which you are facing such problem.
