Gateway is at the present owned by Acer neither brand has the most excellent rep at the moment. For myself I would seem at Asus, MSI, and Samsung if your budget is tight, although prices on Toshiba, Dell are attractive competitive these days. So if you want then you can go for any of these. So just look on these I think it will be going to fix your issue.

I am also facing the similar issue and regarding this I have asked it to many of my friends but not able to get satisfied with their answers. Thanks to you. I just thinking, it was a fine deal bearing in mind the components. I will see what I am able to obtain for the same price with Asus. And I hope I will get that.

I am also looking this laptop buying for the student. As a salesman I have seen plenty of laptops approach and go in terms of repairs and harms. As the earlier poster said, Acer/Gateway is the same company and has been type of sketchy in the past. On the other hand so far for the models after their unattractive "lunchbox" series of laptops, I have seen them in terms of proportion of laptops sold have the similar quantity of harms as HP and Toshiba. Asus laptops in the ultra-portable group with devoted graphics and huge battery life tend to be extremely costly. Though, they are totally one of the best laptop makers out there. MSI be inclined to have the similar bang for the buck as Gateway, and Samsung's be inclined to have a little additional price premium. I am able to self-assuredly say that this entry laptop is the best hit for your buck, for the reason that of the pleasant video card and claimed battery life of 6 hours on their website. Just make sure you keep it propped up so it is able to have good air flow when you are gaming with it.

I have just come from seeing it at future shop and believe I will be picking it up. My daughter liked the keyboard. I am adding the 3 year future shop service plan. I am having them get ready it: installing Windows 7 home premium take of the preinstalled blot ware and install office and my daughters Sims 3 game. They said they did not be acquainted with of AVG and propose a Microsoft antivirus whose name I forget.
