What does PRINTER OFFLINE in STATUS mean?

I have an HP 880C and Windows XP. The couple was fine until I tried to install Mandrake 10.1. Since then, when I load Windows, my printer is " Offline " . I have to every time uninstall it and reinstall . Everything works fine until the next reboot. I have since deleted Mandrake , do an image of my Windows partition , reformat the C partition (via CD Win XP ) , put my image (the goal was to remove the multi boot LILO) , but the problem is always present. Does anyone have a solution or something to try? Thank you in advance.

You need to remove and replace the paper tray. The paper loaded in the tanks may be causing the problem.
    1. Remove the paper bins INPUT and OUTPUT .
    2. If you print labels , make sure one of them did not become detached from the page and pasted into the printer.
    3. Reload the tray.
    4. Press the Resume button.
If the jam is removed , the printer continues to print .

If this does not solve your problem , For Windows XP and Windows Vista ®: Doubleclick the icon your machine Brother and choose Printer => Cancel All Documents. For Windows 7: Doubleclick on the icon of the machine Brother = > View print jobs => Printer => Cancel All Documents.
