    Paragon Alignment Tool

I heard about a tool that can provide a proper alignment for hard drive partition for better performance. I need some help to find out more information about the software. I found a tool called Paragon Alignment Tool. What type of drive does it supports. Does it work on SSD drives. What are the benefits which I can derive from it for making my drive to work in a much better way. Thanks.

Paragon alignment tool is the best tool possible to solve the problems of misalignment. This tools supports SSD, RAID, SAN and virtual environments. I had read on some forums that this is first tool of its kind and allows the user to dramatically increase the performance and lifetime of hard drives. To use the alignment tool Paragon just run the program and it will automatically detect misalignments. Then accept the settings and run the tool.

    Re: Paragon Alignment Tool

In my case I had added some new drives to the system. The new drives larger than 2TB and it use sectors of 4 kb instead of 512 bytes. I had found that from GPT disks, which replaces the MBR and the same then reaches its limit. This can be cause due to shift of clusters which are no longer aligned with the physical sectors properly. Hence th e drive work slows and here you can use PAT for fixing the same.

It is a bit more complicated than that. Their physical sectors are 4096 bytes but these discs can emulate areas of 512 bytes. The problem in native mode is that all systems holdings and disk management tools do not necessarily know how to manage the sectors size other than the traditional 512 bytes which works well under emulation mode. The problem with emulation is that to read or write one sector which is emulated at 512 bytes and the controller integrated will read or write the entire physical sector of 4096 bytes.

    Re: Paragon Alignment Tool

It is necessary for a drive to first read the complete physical sector and the same must change to 512 bytes corresponding to the sector and rewrite the sectors back again. This takes a long time from where Write performance is degraded. To optimize the you need to write sectors emulated by 8 blocks that are aligned with the physical sectors. This can be done by this tool and the same is quiet efficient also.

The cluster size is defined by formatting and can be amended by utilities . It depends on what data you are using on it. Anyone who sends a number of files in that few bytes will be advantageous to have small clusters and one who have divx stored which gives result to large clusters and also takes more space. There is a another tool for the same which is called ad Norton Disk Doctor.

Paragon Alignment Tool Ensures the alignment of partitions on different hard drives with 4-KByte-sector size so that the panels can achieve optimal performance. The new SSDs are out now the same provides fast access times with a splash or the classical ferro-magnetic disks whose capacity far exceeded two terabytes. Paragon Partition Manager Virtual Server 11 also combines with the achievements of modern partitioning of storage virtualization and operating systems.
