nvstor32: reset to device -- freezing machine

I have an eMachine T5230 which has a Nvidia 6150 graphic card. The operating system on the computer is Windows XP. The system was working fine for all these days but now the system freezes constantly. When the system freezes, it gives the following error message :-
    • Source: nvstor32 Message: Reset to device, \Device\RaidPort0 was issued
    • Source: nvstor32 Message: A parity error was detected on \Device\RaidPort0
    • Source: disk Message: The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk0\DR0
I cant figure out what is causing such problem and hence need your help in solving the issue. Therefore if any of you has any idea about how to solve the nvstor32: reset to device error then please suggest some solution. Thanks in advance.

The operating system on the computer must be not working properly and hence the system is freezing. Operating system of the computer has lot of files associated to it. If any of the file which is associated to the operating system is corrupt or missing on the computer, then the operating system will not work properly. Try repairing the operating system on the computer and see if the problem is solved. Insert the installation disk of the operating system and boot the system from the installation disk. Let the installer load and then select the "Repair the current windows installation" option. Let the procedure complete. Once the procedure is complete, reboot the system and see if the problem is solved or not.

I suspect that the drivers for the SATA or IDE controllers are not working properly due which the system is not able to read from the hard drive. The drivers for the SATA or IDE controllers are available on the support disk which is provided with the motherboard. Insert the support disk in the CD drive and install the drivers for the SATA or IDE controller. Once all the drivers are installed, reboot the system and see if the hard drive is accessible or not.

The hard drive of the system is failing and hence you are facing such problem. The hard drive of the computer develops bad clusters due to frequent read write data cycles. If the bad clusters are more in number then the system will not be able to read the hard drive contents and will give errors which you are facing. Run the different diagnostics tools on the hard drive and check all the errors with the hard drive. If the errors are irrepairable, the you will have to replace the hard drive.

Power supply unit of the computer can be faulty due to which it is not able to provide correct voltage levels to all the devices which are connected to the computer. The hard drive of the computer must not be getting enough power continously due to which the system is not able to read from the hard drive. Get the SMPS checked and if faulty get it replaced. After replacing the SMPS, you will not face the same problems.

Get the motherboard checked. It is possible that the motherboard of the system is faulty which is making the hard drive undetectable. Call up the eMachine support and get the motherboard of the computer checked. If the motherboard is faulty, get it replaced. Once the motherboard is replaced, you will not face the same problem again.

BIOS update is the ultimate solution to your problem. You will be required to install the latest version of the BIOS which is available for the model of the motherboard which you are using. eMachines have an nForce motherboards, go to the official website of Nvidia and search for the model of the motherboard which you are using. Download the latest BIOS version available for the motherboard. Install the updated version of BIOS on the motherboard and see if it solves the problem.
