LED Time Machine TV stuck on Hard disk formatting

    Hi,
I have a 42" LG Time machine TV. It is connected to a DVR which has 80GB of storage space to record live TV. I am using Live TV and recorder some programs. After recording it is giving hard drive formatting error. I had left the DVR as it for some time but nothing goes further that. I think the space might be full in it. How to clear up the old programs now.

Might your DVR's space is full due to which the error pop ups. You can delete those programs manually and then check back the recording. For this just turn on your DVR and then go in Menu. You can enter that by your remote. Then go to System Setup. You can use the up and down arrow key for that. In System setup you can see Factory Defaults option. Press it and wait for a while.

There are automated settings in a DVR menu where you can set the programs for automatic deletion. Maximum DVR's deletes the program automatically. This is best suited when there is a frequent need of space and the DVR deletes the old program first as per the default settings. You can check the settings of your DVR and then check the settings.

In your DCR go to My Recording and then select an recording. For that choose Edit and then select Delete. By this way you can one by one delete the recording until everything is gone. DVR checks for free up space and pop up messages on a regular interval. You can use the option of Automatic Deletion in the DVR menu. Your old programs will be deleted after some interval of time.

Formatting simply means that your data will be erased completely. There are built in space for every drive and they come with factory restore utility. Once you run the restore utility the dvr restores back to the originate settings with which it comes. By this you might also notice downfall on your cable service. So for that you will need to contact the cable company.

You will have to clean up the memory of DVR due to which the error is popping up continuously. You can simply turn off the DVR and then put it back after few minutes. Then instead of recording try to enter the system setup and delete all the old recording. Once there is enough space you can then again record any show. The current error can be due to continuous recording.
