    USB-RS232 device

    Hi all,

    As the PC industry continues to develop, the current computer / computer RS-232 interface, less and less, and some did not (for example in some laptops), USB (Unviversal Serial Bus) interface is gradually replacing the old PC's a variety of low-speed peripheral interfaces. However, there are many important industrial environment equipment still in use RS-232/485/422 interface, interface design, this, in order to achieve the laptop or workstation USB interface, easy access to serial devices, USB to serial converter is undoubtedly a kind of a bad solution. Please suggest.

    USB-RS232 device

    There are some problems in this way, mainly:
    1. RS-232 is a relatively outdated communication protocols, many new computers, such as notebook computers have not had this interface;
    2. RS-232 rate is not enough high. (485 enables high-speed 10Mbps communication speed, and general computer's RS-232 port baud rate can only reach 115kbps rate, conversion rate can not meet the requirements);
    3. a number of occasions require the use of passive (no external power supply) and RS-232 to RS-485 converter. At this time converter to work need to take power from the 232 port, serial port is likely to face power shortage.

    USB-RS232 device

    The USB-RS 232 converter good enough to make up for :
    1. USB (Universal Serial Bus) is the new standard of the most popular computer interface. Many new computers are equipped with USB interfaces.
    2. Compared to RS-232, USB interface, high communication speed. USB1.1 up to 12Mbps, USB2.0 up to 300Mbps rate, and a variety of rates and means of communication, can fully meet the requirements of fast conversion 485.
    3. USB interface itself has strong supply ability. Therefore USBóRS-485 converter requires no external power supply (that is, the problem of insufficient power supply does not exist). In addition, USB bus there are other advantages. For example: hot-plug, convenient connections, so multiple devices can be attached.

    USB-RS232 device

    USB232 driver installed, automatically in your computer system in a serial COM port virtual. For example, your computer has two serial ports COM1 and original COM2, then USB485B driver installation automatically after a virtual COM3 port (normally is the case, the specific COM port number assigned automatically by the Virtual Driver). If your computer does not have RS-232 interface (such as the relatively new laptop), then the driver is installed, an automatic virtual COM1 port. The driver from the USB-RS232 virtual COM port and the computer out of the original application software for the COM port is the same. All the best.
