    TV Tuner card, No post

    Hello everyone !

I just recently purchased a Hauppauge WIN TV HVR 1600 Tv tuner card to go with my PC. When I first installed my card, my windows would not detect it, not even a "New hardware found" message in the tray icon area

So I restarted my computer, and still no go, So I popped in the CD-Rom to install my drivers to see if that would do anything, and I would get the "no hardware supported" error message

So, I restarted again, but this time, I would get a black screen when windows would try to load with the little dot in the left top corner, and nothing, I also tried to enter safe mode... and it would not allow me

When I remove my card, windows loads fine

The card clearly states that it does work with windows 7... maybe it has something to do with my hardware ?

EVGA X58 SLI LE - Motherboard
6 GB Corsair Dominator - Memory
    i7 920 - CPU
    ATI Radeon 5870 - GPU

If anyone had any way of telling me why, or what I can do to make this work, I would be very grateful !

Yes, from your description it seems to be an issue with the hardware requirements. So here a list of the System requirements for you Hauppauge WIN TV HVR 1600 Tv tuner card:
    • Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7, Windows Vista or Windows XP with Service Pack 2
(WinTV-HVR-1600 is Windows 7 AQ certified and Vista Premium certified)
    • Processor: 1.0 GHz Intel P4 or equivalent (for cable TV) or 2.2 GHz Intel P4 or equivalent (for ATSC digital TV)
    • Graphics: 64 MB or more.
    • PCI slot.
    • Sound card.

Also I would like to know which Windows operating system you are using.
