Problem with replaced hard drive of VGN-B100B

Hello Friend,

I am using the Sony VAIO VGN-B100B notebook laptop. Initially this laptop comprises the 40GB hard drive. Because of some need I replaced this 40GB hard drive with 250 GB. Then I installed Windows XP operating system, but I got only 127 GB partition only. I am not getting the cause behind this strange issue. If you have any opinion over this Hard drive issue of my Sony VAIO VGN-B100B notebook, then please let me know that. I am waiting for your reply.

It seems that the replaced hard drive of your Sony VAIO VGN-B100B notebook laptop is faulty. And because of that you are getting only 127GB partition instead of 250GB. I suggest you to replace this faulty hard drive, then try new hard drive. I will definitely work for you. I have tried the same thing with my faulty hard drive.

There are two possibilities with this hard drive issue of VGN-B100B. Either you notebook laptop has some problem or the new hard drive has some issues. Most of the chances that your laptop might comprises some hardware problem, because of that it is not assessing the correct available space of you hard drive.

I think you need to try the 120GB hard disk rather than 260GB. Sony VAIO VGN-B100B laptop getting problem with Hard drive more than 120. So I suggest you to try 120GB hard disk,and let know if you still getting same issues with your hard drive. Actually my friend had the same issue with VGN-B100B laptop. Then he used 120GB hard drive with his laptop without any issue.

According to me your laptop is not compatible for 250GB hard drive. I suggest you to visit the official website of your notebook laptop, and find-out the compatible hard drive for your laptop. If you have already tried this, then their is only one way to solve this issue ans it is, you need to take help of any hardware expert.
