Hi,

I have a HP Photosmart C4480 printer. The problem is that My printer is showing a "failed ink system" - error 0xc18a0201. I have even restarted the printer . What may be the problem??? How to resolve this ???

Try the Following steps to resolve your problem :

1. Turn the printer.
2. Remove the cartridge, cut the locks and close the access door.
3. Unplug the power cord and wait until the printer turns off completely.
4. Reconnect the cable, wait until you receive the message: "Insert cartridge" message or equivalent.
5. Check contacts copper cartridges and those inside the cartridge holder to remove any ink or dust (with a clean cloth).
6. Insert the cartridges.
7. Turn off then turn on the printer with the "power".

If your problem is not solved you can also try the following steps :

1. Unplug the power cord from the printer.
2. Press, simultaneously, the keys "HELP" and "OK" and hold.
3. Reconnect the power cord while still holding the keys down.
4. The screen will display the inscription "DERIVATIVE CLEAR" or equivalent message. Release the keys.
5. Turn on the printer.

Thank you very much, that has not worked in the exact sequence of the same, but clicking on buttons and disconnect and connect the cable again, off and on again in different orders until something happened seems to have re-set it! Does anyone have any idea of the errors are related to refilled cartridges?

Simply you need to reset your printer, you can do this by following the below steps :

* Turn the printer.
* Once it is ready, hold down the key "9" and "#".
* Unplug the power cable and hold buttons
* Wait thirty seconds
* Reconnect the power, without ever having released the keys
* Wait until the logo "HP" on the screen turns off
* Release the 2 buttons
* Turn the printer via the button to activate
* Re-enter the language and other parameters
* Wait until the printer face maintenance (approximately 5 minutes)
* The printer is now ready.
