Reconfiguring a key on the keyboard

    Hello,

I'm on Mac. I chose to display the option of leaving the F1 ... F12 mode non-standard to enjoy the iTunes, sound and light. However I think the F3 key in this mode is useless (navigation between all open windows) because it's the same thing to 4 fingers and slide down (MBP unibody). 4 fingers + top displays the desktop but the concern is that when one wants to move something to the office and it is covered by a bunch of windows can not go on the desk like that, with the trackpad gesture partner, for then it is locked because a file is selected. What I would therefore, is to reprogram F3 mode non-standard (ie not really the F3 key, which is accessed in the keyboard preferences) to ensure that instead of having all the windows tile, I have my office, as does the F11 standard (at least by default)

    Is this possible? Thank you.

    Hello,

Will see in the menu bar-> Apple-> System Preferences-> Dashboard -> Expose Preferences

And normally you will be able to configure your keys

I have not tried it in snow leopard, i did this trick one in toger. Which mac you are using ? You haven't said that. In all cases, it must be in the system Preferences.

Until a real answer, you can already configure F3 to "Show Desktop" (in System Preferences> Expose Preferences), and then thou shalt holding down Fn while pressing F3.

Use the Ukelele, with it you can configure keys on mac.

Here is the official discription about: Ukelele

Unicode Keyboard Layout Editor for Mac OS X versions 10.2 and later. Version 2.0 is only for Mac OS X versions 10.4 and later.

Beginning with version 10.2 (Jaguar), Mac OS X supports an XML-based format for keyboard layouts (.keylayout files). These may be installed by copying them to the Keyboard Layouts folder within /Library or ~/Library; then they are enabled via the Input tab of the International module within System Preferences.
