The problem could be that the printer's cord that you use to connect to the same is not able to work out well. You need to check out for the cord that is been plugged to the system. There is a possibility that the cord may be worn out and hence it is not able to supply power to the same. So do check out for the thing. It will help you out.

Try to perform a clean boot process. This may then help you out to install the drivers and then work with the same.

* Click on the start button.
* Now as it is been done then you need to type msconfig in the searchbox option.
* Hit enter.
* Then under the selective startup tab choose Hide all Microsoft services.
* Disable the services.
* Restart the system.

There can be a possibility that the system is not able to work well with the same. You can install the compatibility tools for the same. All you need to do is to install the compatibility tools for Windows XP or Vista from the compatibility center. It will then make the application to work out for you been connected to the system. Try it out it may sort the issue.
