HP Laserjet 5500 Error Code 49.4c02

Hi,

My HP Laserjet 5500 gives Error Code 49.4c02 while printing. I have been experiencing intermittent problems w/ the printer ever since we upgraded his machine to windows 7 if that helps at all. What does this error mean??

Hp Error Code 49.4c02 : This error is usually due to some form of data corruption. If this is happening in one file, it could be that the. It could also be related to software person sending the print job, print commands bad or invalid. Although rare, bad or a cable connection may be faulty. Check it first and let us know !!!

To remove error code 49.4c02, the first step is to restart the printer, delete all jobs with the Stop button, restart the printer again. Then try printing from another program, like the txt editor. While, then print a different file of original software, but then print the original file.

This is a communication error. Try switching off for 10 minutes and then up. Error returned. Turn off the printer and removed the jet direct card and turn the printer while holding the green check button to try a cold reset. Fine start. No errors. But I wanted to make sure it was not the formatter board, so turn off the printer and placed direct jet card to a port on the formatter. It produces the same error. Then change direct jet card and you will be able to print.

The issue is caused by the External JetDirect Card (Network Card) which is usually 615n,you have to exchange it, I was getting this error occurs with Adobe PDF 8.1 and changing hardware only unacceptable for our clients. I installed v7 and Adobe seems to have been printed fine. Due to security reasons I had to upgrade to the v8.1 and So then I installed the previous version again. Now the problem is solved.
