a dvd copying problem

hi
when i try to copy (home made)the copy software doesnt feel the dvd in the burner drive.its a sony dru-830a burner.this happens on all my home made dvds
any suggestions would be helpful.im on a dell demension 1100.

You need to clean the lens of the dvd drive of your system. It may be that the lens might have been affected by some dust or scratches. Clean it using a cleaner solution.

It might be the problem of lens or the problem of drivers.
Is it taking CDs? If yes then it is surely driver problem.
You have to uninstall and reinstall the drivers.
If not then consult any specialist.
