Good evening,

On the Samsung site, there you'll find firmware update for DVD burner

Search update probably corresponds to your model.

You should not not change the firmware if you don't have serious problems with your drive!

Why: If the chip control drive is bad, loading the program will crash, and that will halt drive at all.

I'll advice you to not unnecessary upgrade your burner you may harm its working. If its working fine then no need to upgrade the firmware, it won't increase much performance. Stay on safer side in terms of working hardware in your PC.

It's up to you to see what program is running as well as your program to burn CDs.

You'll find the Task Manager with Ctrl+Alt+Del (or right-click in an empty corner of the taskbar.)

You will find a button that gives the % CPU utilization for each program.

If you have lots of running program -> the processor will be at 100% and have fewer resources to deal with the recorder.
