The problem could basically relate to the video card that you are using. It is quite a very rare case that you are facing. But will suggest you to check out for the video card of the system. This can be a issue or a worry for you. Upgrade the drivers for the card and then check out for the same. This might help you out. Hopefully by trouble shooting the devices for the system that is especially the video card.

This issues basically corresponds to multitasking purpose. You have to check for the issue that whether such problem do arise only when you unplug the power cord for your system. There can be a possibility that the system been multitasked leads to over usage of the drives or applications that make the system to freeze for a while. This is the reason that the system usage grows too 95% or more.

A virus can be the core problem for the same. It is quite a big issue and concern that the system usage increases due to a bug or virus. You need to run a scan wizard for the system so that if the problem is with the virus then you can make it correct by using a good antivirus tool. A virus generally runs multiple programs due to which the usage increases and slows the system.

The issue can be of bad motherboard. The problem can be associated with the motherboard. You need to check out with the motherboard in order to get the things to work in proper way. There can be also be a possibility that the power cord or the power unit may have gone worn out. You can take the laptop to the manufacturer if its in warranty or make it serviced by the company. This shall resolve the issue.
