ThinkPad T400 laptop won't boot into windows

I am running windows xp on my lenovo x200 laptop. The problem is laptop won't boot completely into windows. The lenovo x200 laptop tries to load into windows but after some time goes to a blue screen... I am not sure it has a virus or what caused the error.

A "Blue Screen" is the name given to the blue screen of strange numbers and information that can sometimes come up if your machine crashes. If Windows XP (or 2000) refuses to start, press F8 right after you turn on your PC but before the Windows log-on appears (it may take a few attempts to get the timing right). At the resulting menu, select Last Known Good Configuration to restore your Registry to an earlier date.

Soon as your thinkpad t400 laptop boots start pressing f-12 then reboot from last known good configuration if that doesn't work use System Restore. System Restore runs in the background as a service and continually monitors system-critical components for changes. When it detects an impending change, System Restore immediately makes backup copies, called restore points, of these critical components before the change occurs. In addition, System Restore is configured by default to create restore points every 24 hours.

Press F12 at powerup at thinkpad t400 laptop boots. From the menu that appears, choose diagnostics. Let the quick tests run and then boot to the 32-bit diagnostics. Run the extended hard drive test.

So when you push the power button, you don't get anything going at all? No hard spin, no fans, no lights?Try a Linux Live CD, if that doesn't work, you have hardware fault. Have you tried System recovery CD to original OS? Is it still under warranty?

So, the problem seems to be the corruption of a system file and could be attributed to any of the programs that downloaded from the Internet. Reboot the system, pressed F11, and selected the option to restore system to an older time or select Last Known Good Configuration, and then press ENTER. Windows XP will start.
