Realtek Sound Card not detecting 5.1 speakers

I am having the computer system with the 5.1 speakers at my home. I am using the Realtek sound/audio card in my computer system. But this 5.1 speakers are not working with my computer system. The computer/sound card is not able to detect the 5.1 speakers connected to the system. Where as the system is able to detect the speakers when i connect 2.1 speakers. What is this problem about? Detecting 2.1 and not able to detect 5.1 speakers.

Re: Realtek Sound Card not detecting 5.1 speakers

You have correctly mentioned your problem but you have not mentioned that which operating system you are using in your computer system. It will be easier for us to solve your sound card and the speaker problem if you had mentioned the operating system also. First of all check all the settings of your computer system for the sound card and the speakers. If the settings are not proper then make it proper according to your speakers and the audio card which you are using. This will solve the problem if it is simple connection and the setting
problem.

Re: Realtek Sound Card not detecting 5.1 speakers

You are saying that the system is not able to detect the 5.1 speakers connected to your computer system. First of all make sure that the Sound card is properly fixed to your computer system. To check this go to the Device Manager of your computer system. You can go to the device manager either through the Control panel or directly through the Manage option by right clicking on the My Computer. See the list of the connected hardware devices to your computer system. If the sound card is not shown then remove the Realtek sound card from the mother board and correctly fix it again in the slot of the motherboard.

Re: Realtek Sound Card not detecting 5.1 speakers

If all the settings are proper for the sound card and the 5.1 speakers which you are using in your computer system. Then there is possibility that the sound card of your computer system is disable. So it is not detecting the speakers when you connect to it. This problem will be solved by enabling the sound card of the computer system. To enable the Realtek sound card go to the device manager of the computer system and select the enable option by right clicking on the Realtek Sound card hardware device.

Re: Realtek Sound Card not detecting 5.1 speakers

If the sound card is enabled and all other settings are also fine for the speakers and the sound card then first of all check the Jack which you are using to connect the 5.1 speakers to connect to the computer system. Connect this speakers to some other computer system using the same jack which you are using. Because you are saying that this sound card is able to detect the 2.1 speakers. If this speakers are not detected in other system also the the problem is with this connecting jack wire. Changing this jack wire will resolve this problem.

Re: Realtek Sound Card not detecting 5.1 speakers

You are saying that this Realtek sound card is able to detect the 2.1 speaker system but it is not able to detect the 5.1 speaker system. The reason for this can be, this sound card does not support the 5.1 channel speakers. For connecting 5.1 speakers to your computer system you need to have the sound card which has the support for the 5.1 channel surround sound speakers. So you should buy and connect the new sound card which supports the 5.1 speakers in your computer system. After that this 5.1 speakers will work with your computer.
