Basic cooling options for overclocking

In order to perform I thing the first thing to take care about is the cooling option. If there is not enough ventilation in the system case then the motherboard can fry up destroying the valuable hardware. What are the basic cooling options which are suitable for all types of overclocking.

Re: Basic cooling options for overclocking

The choice of cooling is crucial. In ATX format, it will at best offer a location where 80mm or 120mm at the rear, below the space for food, and down the front. This will ensure proper airflow within the machine. Today there are relevant case available which are designed specially for overclocking and gaming. You have to spend a bit more on them but they gives a safe side.

Re: Basic cooling options for overclocking

When your machine is running it generates a considerable amount of heat. You might try to cool as much as you want your device by affixing the fans, if hot air is not extracted it will be wasted. To do this we must place at the rear of the machine to the intended location, if this is not the case, an extraction fan. You can also supplement this system by a fan at the front cover, below, to further improve the flow of air. This depends on your needs.

It is not a compulsion that you must have a costly case to avoid burning of your processor in overclocking. To avoid too shy airflow, make sure to get your machine properly, avoid having cables lying around for nothing in the middle. If you are familiar about all the causes that makes overclocking risky then you can simply avoid such conditions.

Re: Thermal paste cooling options for overclocking

There are many techniques which can help you for this. The most basic is the thermal paste which allows to improve contact between the element and to cool his radiator. Indeed the two surfaces are not 100% smooth and a little amount of paste gives a good contact. Be careful however not to put too much a very thin layer is sufficient. Indeed the thermal paste does not conduct heat as well as aluminum or copper, should not therefore gain lose contact heat conductivity.

Yes thermal paste is a better option. Generally, it cools the various components of the machine using two elements. The first is a spendthrift, who landed on the processor, chipset or processor graphics card. Its role is to pump heat from the element and leave the best on its surface, which is more important. Extra fans and if possible liquide cooling can give out a add on benefit to your system.
